Bereavement
Cruse Bereavement Care (01332 332098) - Provides useful information on how to deal with grief and loss.
Crime
Victim Support (01332 349956) - Supports victims of crime.
Debt & Arrears
Shelter (0808 800 4444) - Free, confidential housing, debt and homelessness advice, online and by telephone
Disability
Disability Direct (01332 299449) - Provides information, advice and advocacy for people with disabilities.
Domestic Violence
Freedom Programme - The Freedom Programme is a 12-week course for anyone who is interested in learning more about domestic violence and abuse.
Hadhari Nari (01332 270101) - For support of women who have been forced into marriage.
Karma Nirvana - Karma Nirvana supports victims of honour-based abuse and forced marriage.
Women's Aid - Women's Aid provides support for anyone who has been affected by domestic violence.
Emotional Support
The Samaritans - The Samaritans offer emotional support for anyone who is in need of someone to listen to them.
Mental Health
Counselling Directory - A counselling network enabling those in distress to find a local private counsellor who is appropriate to their needs. Also includes information on emotional disorders. Please be aware that there will be fees attached to private counselling.
Mind - Provides support regarding mental health issues.
Rape
Rape Crisis - Rape Crisis offers support for both male and female rape victims.
Sexual Health
Genito-urinary Clinic (01332 254681) - Based at the London Road Community Hospital in Derby. Drop-in sessions are on offer so you don't necessarily need to book an appointment.
Sexual Health Helpline (0800 567 123) - A free and confidential helpline for support ande advice about AIDS, HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Women's Organisations
Asian Women's Training Centre (01332 363179) - Provides basic skills and support to Asian women.
Women's Work - The Women's Work organization provides advice and support for females in the Derby area who are involved in substance misuse, especially those who are also involved in street sex work.
Young People
Childline (0800 11 11) - Childline provides a wealth of support for young people via a free and confidential helpline.
The Space (01332 364445) - Provides information, advice and counselling for young people aged 12-25.
